    Who is required to register?

    Gift is the transfer of certain existing moveable or immoveable property made voluntarily and without consideration, by one person, called the donor, to another, called the donee,

    Anyone can receive a gift that is chosen by the donor must have a blood relation.

    For a valid gift transaction following are the pre-requisites which needs to be complied:

      • Gift must be declared by the donor through gift deed;
      • The donee of the gift must express the acceptation of the same; and
      • Delivery of the possession of the subject gift to the donee.

    • In the light of tax laws the gifts are exempted from tax.
